Capricorn is a sign of great determination. One that teaches you the value of pushing through what’s hard so that you can truly reap the rewards of your labor.

In an age where everything comes so quickly, I think it’s incredibly important to be in reverence to this sign, as it reminds us of the value of a good work ethic and a rooted state of mind. 

What’s real is that Capricorn can also feel like an uphill battle….

This new moon is here to gift us patience if we choose to accept it. It teaches us that the hard work, discipline, and structured planning you do today will pay off in the long run.

Capricorn New Moon Root Chakra Yoga

Capricorn governs the root chakra as well as the knees and back.

You may not realize it, but pain in the lower back, especially sciatic nerve pain, can create pain in the knees. Vice versa, chronic knee pain can impact the lower back. The legs and lower back create the foundation of your body and your overall stability. 

The best way to either prevent or ease the pain of chronic conditions like osteoporosis or sciatic nerve pain is to stay active. Yoga can help. 

This practice is comprised of poses that not only support and strengthen the joints and muscles of the physical lower body but also strengthen the root chakra of the energetic body. Because baby, it’s all connected!

Capricorn New Moon Ayurvedic Insights

Just like Capricorn, Ayurveda can teach us a lot about creating structures in our lives as well. 

One powerful way this shows up is in the segmented times of the day. 

There are specific times of day that align to the doshas. Within each of these times, certain activities are recommended.

The idea is that if you work with the doshas to structure your day, it will create overall balance. 

It’s not much different than syncing your life to the cycles of the moon.

Here’s a key you can refer to while you re-create your own structures and plans during this new moon! 

Ayurvedic Times of Day

Vata – A time for waking up and starting your day, lighthearted activities, physical movement, and creative activities!

Times of Day: 2-6 a.m. and 2-6  p.m.

Kapha – A time for creating structure,  planning, connection with self and loved ones, the retention of knowledge, and taking it easy. 

Times of Day: 6-10 a.m. and 6-10 p.m.

Pitta – A time for processing information and nutrients, digestion, mental activity, and your heaviest meal of the day (lunch). 

Times of Day: 10 a.m. -2p.m. and 10 p.m. – 2 a.m.
